Getting around Europe is not as easy as I was led to believe… at least not when your departure city is Alicante. Cassie found an incredible all-inclusive (expect not really but that’s cool) trip to Portugal for only 125 euros! Trick was we needed to find our way to Seville to make the 6-hour ride on a private bus. We accomplished this by boarding a train at 6am from Alicate to Madrid, and then another from Madrid to Seville. In total we spent about 12 hours in travel time to get to Lagos. Worth it? Oh my god yes.

Portugal is so cool looking! The bluest sky I’ve ever seen with rich sapphire waters and lots of white buildings everywhere. What I loved about this weekend was all the nature-y beauty. Previous weekends have been spent exploring new towns and touring museums while this one was akin to the canyoning day, though much more relaxed.

When we reached our hotel- more like air bnbs- we freshened up and headed to  the beach for some sangria (made by our party-loving, jokester guides) and to mingle with the 48 other students studying in Granada and Seville.

Afterwards we headed to dinner in the town center. I love our guides but they are the worst planners. They brought us to a magnificent award-winning burger place, but neglected to A. Inform the staff (3 chefs!) we were coming and B. Take into consideration that 50 people cannot fit into a 30 people place. (same thing the next night, half of us were asked to leave the Mexican restaurant they brought us to because lack of seating haha) Nonetheless they pressed on and 3 hours later a bunch of grumpy college kids were fed, full, and on their way to experience Lagos nightlife. Worth it? I totally though so! This pic may not look particularly appetizing but it was delicious

Cassie and I met a lovely group of Australians- 2 dudes and 2 super cool girls (yay people who can legally drink in the states)- and headed out with them. Honestly very fun night bar hopping, dancing (aka fist pumping), and immortalizing our presence on a ceiling of some random pub.

Ps we met like zero Portuguese people, only Australians and Brits, even the bartenders!

With only 4 drinks (my golden number) & getting home at a decent hour with no hang over, I was fresh for sangria cruise te next morning!
