Sunday was my faaaaavorite. Cassie and I walked around the city a bit but nearly everything was closed so we ended up just getting yogurt/snacks and sitting outside. Afterwards we did a 3 hour tour of the Alhambra. You guys. It was the most beautiful place ever! The castle is HUGE and just so many gardens and the architecture is just insane. It was 107 degrees and I think I just got progressively slap-happy from the heat and beauty of the place haha. Fun fact it was scouted to be the home of the Martells in Dorne for Game of Thrones! They went with somewhere in Seville, but they did film the fighting pit in Granada 😃. My favorite parts of the castle were the gardens by far!
The buildings were gorgeous too. Using certain numbers like 5, 7, and 9 were very important for religious reasons and were repeated in rooms through things like windows and pillars. The ceilings had many different representations of the starry skies, and while its monotone now everything was originally fully painted in bright colors.
