The days feel so long here! Or maybe it’s just that I’m getting up at 6:45am again…
First part of my day was not too interesting, slowly learning Spanish and getting better at directions and public transportation. Here are some pictures!
Little Greenhouse/garden and what I call Cactus Lane on campus!
Remember when I said our campus used to be a military base/airport? This is the only original building left — air traffic control!
Got a delicious treat from one of the many gelato/ice cream shops on my walk back from class #treatyoself
Castillo de Santa Barbara
Our tour was in Spanish so I don’t have much historical information for you! I learned they added construction three different times over the 15th-18 centuries and the castle had multiple purposes ranging from protection to simply being a symbol of Alicante. There is Spanish, Iranian and other architectural influences. It was very beautiful with lots of zigzagging paths, flowers, statues and extraordinary views!
