Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga are currently on tour doing a fantastic collaborative show. Fun fact: my brother Lucien is Tony’s godson, so he was offered a free ticket and was kind enough to snag two more for Kenny and I as well! The show took place on the Fourth of July at the Salle des Etoiles, a stunning circular venue right on the water.
As you can see the show included dinner. After our pictures were taken we were escorted to our seats, and upon opening our menus we were greeted with an unexpected news! How much per person?? And without drinks?! It’s cool I like water…
Thankfully the staff realized they misread my brothers tickets and had seated us at the wrong place! We were invited to dine backstage on an assortment foods including duck, fish, vegetables, cheese and desserts. Whew! While eating we were told we were seated next to Linday and Ali Lohan back in the showroom. Thank goodness I knew beforehand because I definitely would have made a face and we all know what happened with Alfie Allen…
For the curious Ali was an absolute doll. She is stunning in person and was super friendly and talkative. Lindsay fluttered around the room mingling with people she knew and her boyfriend. She would stop by her seat for a few minutes at a time to whisper with her sister, but introduced herself to us and at one of her exists said to me “I leave her (Ali) in your hands”. Yeah I got you, Lohans. Just one of the girls 💁🏻
A house band and lots of champagne followed dinner and all through the night. Just before the main act, the ceiling and all the walls opened letting in the night sky and allowing the guests access to the circular walkway. Cue the fireworks display!
Then the show began! It was incredible, they sounded amazing together. Tony is comes off as such a gentleman and Gaga is a fantastic entertainer. Her powerful voice alongside his classic crooning made for a dynamic and interesting performance, and they shared cool charisma. They performed duets and solos, and true to form Gaga changed outfits nearly every song. It lasted about two hours. Here’s a clip of LG killing it with Shot Me Down:

After the show we headed backstage to say hi to Tony and take pictures with him and LG. Guys he is just the sweetest person on the planet. We went in with a group of people and everyone was trying to be polite and noninstrusive, so there was a minute where everyone was just kind of smiling and staring at him and he just stood there smiling right back haha. Then one by one people went up to him to say how much his music meant to them, compliment his performance, thank him, etc. he was very gracious and warm with everyone. Me saying hi and needing to improve my posture haha
Next we took pics with him and LG. Okay so right at the beginning of the performance she fell 🙊 She was fine and brushed it off with a laugh at the time but as I was approaching for pic she was apologizing to Tony saying she didn’t want to distract the audience with her mishap. Having had a full bottle of champagne I leaned over and said something like “just so you know I don’t think anyone at our table was distracted, you both were wonderful”. I’m sure I was supremely reassuring and she rested well that night from a stranger’s opinion 😆 But she was so sweet.
After the show we hopped in a car with some new friends we met at the show: Roger ( very chill English guy whom Kenny later invited to Burning Man!), Caroline (Tony’s UK publicist, a super energetic and fun woman), and Steven (quick-witted character!).
We all headed to a club for more champagne and ended the night with handfuls of peanuts back at the hotel.
